A Bit More About Me

I am a fourth-generation South Dakota farm kid. I graduated with bachelor's degrees in English and Journalism from Indiana Wesleyan University, punctuated by a semester as a Visiting Scholar at Oxford University in Oxford, England.

After graduation, I spent 10 years as a newspaper journalist in South Dakota and Nebraska at The Todd County Tribune in Mission, South Dakota; The Keith County News in Ogallala, Nebraska; The Daily Republic in Mitchell, South Dakota; and The Rapid City Journal in Rapid City, South Dakota.

In 2020, I joined an in-house marketing team at an automotive dealership group in Rapid City. In November 2022, I joined the South Dakota State University Extension team as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator.

I have also been a content writer and marketing/brand consultant for design build firms, private counseling firms, literary magazines, automotive groups, and nonprofits.

My eclectic background and love of learning new things have given me experience in everything from long-form journalism to social media advertising to 30-second radio spots.
